What’s going on

Greetings once again!

So yeah, been quiet for a while now, time to make some noise once again.

Number one reason for my lack of posts has been my own laziness. My grandparents came to visit me, which was lovely, but I sort of stopped working during that time and then didn’t pick it up again when they left!

Then I went to visit them in Denmark, which was lovely in itself as it’s more than 1.5 years ago since I’ve seen some of my family members, and while I might not be the most social of people I still enjoy seeing everyone once in a while, so that was good!

However, that wasn’t the only reason why the trip was nice. I’ve realized that I have to get my ass in gear and do something about my life rather than just talk about it and prod at it once in a while so that I feel like I am doing something. It simply won’t be enough in the long run.

I’ve mentioned before that I am prone to procrastinate. I read about drawing and painting. I watch videos about drawing and painting. I listen to interviews and lectures. However, what I am not doing is actually drawing and painting. I’ve come to realize that I need rather tight bonds in order to perform, something or someone to tell me what to do and when to do it, which is simply a luxury I don’t have and can’t afford at the moment.

So what I will be doing is this: Cutting down on movies, TV shows, computer games and browsing the internet simply to pass time. I will be putting together a a simple study schedule which will be something along the lines of painting with my tablet for an hour a day, doing anatomy studies for 1.5-2 hours and doing portrait/facial studies for 1.5-2 hours. I will take a small 5-10 minute break and 30 second breaks from using my arms/hands every once in a while so as to spare them a bit. I work from 9-17:30 (plus overtime) from Monday to Friday so this schedule is going to be rather hellish to start out with, but hopefully once my body gets used to it, I’ll get through it. Once in a while I’ll obviously be socializing with friends but this will most likely become my day to day schedule. I’ll have to start visiting the British Museum on Sundays again as well as that’s something I have come to miss (will be uploading more pictures from there as well as I take them).

On a less serious note, here’s what I am currently working on in photoshop for an hour a day. Hard to find proper theory on landscapes so I thought I might as well start trying to do them myself to just do something with them. This is just something I am doing off the top of my head, which is probably pretty dumb as I should be studying actual landscapes to learn how they are ‘built’ but this is quite fun and I am enjoying it.

Will be updating the blog regularly once again and hopefully become addicted to maintaining it this time around.
