Book study: Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain (Day 5 & 6)

On 5 March, 2013 by eraza

Hey again,

As I mentioned earlier I decided to do another upside down drawing despite my previous frustration and failure, and while this one didn’t turn out perfect either I am happy with it.

Some parts are slightly malformed, mainly appendiges again like the legs and hands as well as the horse’s head, however, I did this drawing without getting frustrated and annoyed and I was very concentrated while doing it so I think I may be one step closer to understanding just what drawing on the right side of the brain fe    els like, so all in all, not too bad!

Day 5 & 6 - Upside down drawing #3

Day 5 & 6 - Upside down drawing #3 - right side up

I quickly threw the image into Photoshop and reduces the whites while increasing the darks to hopefully make the graphite read better. Unfortunately my room isn’t very well lit, so I have to use the flash on my camera which at a close distance fades out the graphite and causes it to glare.

Next up in the book is a chapter on the different stages of drawing based on the age of children I believe.

Till next time!
